5-Axis, 4-Axis, 2 1/2D?
How Current is Your Technology?
No matter what level
your manufacturing capabilities are, Wallace Cranes can help. If the
weight of your end product created with 5-axis machining is on the
order of ounces, then a Wallace Crane can be used to help install and
perform routine maintenance on the tooling. With less demanding
applications where the product weight is a large fraction of the
tooling weight, our cranes can install the equipment and help
load/unload the raw and finished parts.
As talk turns to the re-tooling of cars (or any other old-line
manufacturing firm) Wallace Cranes can help you retool and
reconfigure. The three cylinder blocks (Straight 4, V-8, and W12) above
represent three distinct eras of automotive engine technology. Gear
heads agree Wallace
Cranes can bear the weight, no matter how old (or new) your
manufacturing process is.
At Wallace we have been using our own equipment since we started in
1954. We have gone through a number of technology changes and still
move incoming raw materials and WIP with our own cranes. As we
retool, we rely on our own equipment to create the tooling for the next
generation of cranes.
Wallace makes hundreds of cranes with heights from under 6 ft. to over
24 ft. Our capacities run from 500 to 30,000 lbs. What these numbers mean
is that just about
anything will
fit under one of our
proven Wallace Cranes. And because it fits,
that “anything” can be repaired,
replaced, refurbished, moved, removed, or dealt with. Choose reliability,
choose Wallace.
This is another
installment of our series of application stories that highlight serious
lifting options. Please note that while no lifting slings are shown in
the image, for any real lifting you should be sure the crane, hoist,
and slings are sized for the expected load. To maintain the proprietary
nature of our technology, not all fasteners are shown. The intent is to
show the general design and typical applications.
