Crane CAD Models for Plant Simulations

CAD crane geometry lets you see if a crane will fit your work envelope. The model at right (with a 6 ft. scaling figure) is 15 ft. span, 15 ft. high with a 10 ft. caster frame spread.

New 8/25/04

  • Models updated to AutoCAD R2004 and Bentley MicroStation V8 2004.
  • Added Tri-Adjustable Aluminum cranes with spans up to 20 ft. and capacities to 3 tons.

Plant equipment does not miraculously appear on the factory floor, fully assembled, and ready to go. An integral part of the planning process is to determine how and when the tools of production, from machine tools to conveyors, to paint enclosures and inspection stations, are set-up and built. The CAD models shown on this page are intended for use in plant simulations or factory floor layout.

Solid CAD models, offered in several formats, provide a representation of the footprint of some of the product lines offered by Wallace. Each crane is approximately 500 bytes, allowing quick rendering and very low overhead. The 20 plus models included in this file are only about 5% of the total product line and were carefully selected to indicate the range of sizes available for each crane type. Custom models for cranes not shown are also available.

The single file (a small portion is illustrated, left) lists crane type, capacities, dimensions, and contains a link back to the web site to allow you get precise data on all of the cranes offered by Wallace. Each CAD model (right) features a number of selection keypoints on the corners and along the beam. The models also include a centerpoint to reduce guesswork when placing the components.
