This purposefully vague image shows the scale of the two Wallace cranes in baggage claim at McCarran, the Las Vegas airport. The even worse looking antlike things are 6 ft. tall scale people. |
In Las Vegas, you saw, but probably did not recognize, a giant winning pair.
While passing through baggage claim at McCarran you couldn't miss the pair of 26 ft. tall, 35 ft. span custom Wallace Cranes. We were selected to lift the beams for what the locals call, "yet another expansion."
In addition to being cost effective, the cranes were chosen because they "fit" the demanding working conditions of updating an in-use facility. Better still, the contractor fully intends to use the cranes for more than just the one job in Las Vegas.
Even if you only need one and not a pair, you won on your trip to Las Vegas because you now remember seeing the Wallace Cranes.
This is the fourth installment of a series of application stories designed to evoke the lighter side of serious lifting options. Please note that while no lifting slings are shown in the cartoon, for any real lifting you should be sure the hoist and crane are sized for the expected load.
