Buy Quality. Buy Wallace first, because they last.
Cranes should last far longer than any manufacturing job. Many of our cranes have been in use for decades. So, the question is, how nice do you want to be to your successor?
The key issue in material handling equipment is that you never want a crane to fail. Apart from equipment damaged by dropping (or being dropped on), safety is also a concern. If you opt for a bargain crane, the equipment may not be a bargain. First, cumulative stresses can limit the useful lifespan of a crane. Second, when it comes to cranes, failure is NOT AN OPTION.
Be nice to yourself and your company by buying a high quality Wallace Crane. You want your department and successors to thank you.
This is the seventh in a series of application stories designed to evoke the lighter side of serious lifting options. Please note that while no lifting slings or restraints are shown in the cartoon, for any real lifting you should be sure the load is secured, especially before moving.
